The Dragonbone Chair

I was hired by The Broken Binding to create a new dust jacket cover for the special editions of Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by Tad Williams, under art direction by Petrik Leo.

It was an honor to work on such a wonderful classic epic fantasy series, the orginal covers being by Michael Whelan.

This is 98% done by digital painting, with a few minor stock photos, mainly for light and smoke effects and a starting point on the banner emblems.
